The Government of Canada is committed to working closely with Inuit of Nunavut and government organizations on joint ownership of artifacts from the wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. Negotiations with the Government of the United Kingdom for the transfer of ownership of the artifacts are ongoing.
