How quantum-inspired algorithms could help doctors detect cancer earlier

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is using Microsoft’s “quantum-inspired” algorithms to improve MRI scans. With this technology, they’ve enabled Case Western Reserve University to produce scans that are up to two to three times faster than prior state-of-the-art approaches, as well as scans that are almost 30% more precise in measuring key disease identifiers. The magnetic resonance fingerprinting technology’s speed and specificity improvements have the potential to impact hundreds of thousands of patients a year.
