AI Will Improve Healthcare and Reduce Medical Errors
Using AI to improve healthcare is the topic of this episode of The AI Minute. For more on Artificial Intelligence: https://voicesinai.com https://gigaom.com https://byronreese.com https://amzn.to/2vgENbn... Transcript: Improving healthcare is at the top of just about everybodyĆ¢€™s AI wish list, for a number of reasons. First, no doctor on the planet can keep up with all the advances in medical science, especially since a good portion of published papers are only read by the peer reviewers and the editors of the publication in which they appear. There are, after all, 7000 scientific papers published every day. And this is the sort of situation where AI shines. Second, there is probably already enough medical data already collected to cure or treat any number of conditions. But no human has yet to connect all the various dots. Expect to see AI breakthroughs in the form of new protocols and treatments. And finally, even with the relatively modern health system of the US, the third highest cause of death in the country is medical error. In fact, fully ten percent of all people who die in the United States die from medical error. Sponges get left in patients so often that they are now treated with a substance so they show up on x-rays. AI can help medical technicians avoid a lot of mistakes. In a few cases, AI is already able to customize medicines to your personal genome, and can lower medical costs dramatically by reducing the number of people involved in medical diagnosis and treatment. http://bit.ly/2X7bgfK support@endlesssupplies.ca (Endless Supplies .Ca) June 25, 2019 at 02:36PM
