Launch of public consultations on amendments to the Trade-marks Regulations

The Government of Canada is moving to modernize CanadaĆ¢€™s intellectual property (IP) regime and join five international IP treaties: the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks (the Madrid Protocol), the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks (the Singapore Treaty) and the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (the Nice Agreement) for trademarks, the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs (the Hague Agreement) for industrial designs, and the Patent Law Treaty for patents.
